Foreword Councillor Lisa Mytton, Leader of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council
Alongside supporting our citizens through the recent pandemic, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council continues to follow its transformation plan.
We are hugely ambitious and want to drive forward our change agenda to massively improve the lives of those living and working in Merthyr Tydfil.
To achieve this vision, the role of the CEO is hugely important and leads the authority in the delivery of this transformation.
As the Leader of this Council, I welcome the opportunity to work alongside a Chief Executive that can deliver on these aspirations. We need inspirational leaders, with the highest ambitions and expectations for the Council and Merthyr Tydfil as a whole.
What the recent pandemic has shown is the strength of our workforce and our communities and we must now build on this success and showcase Merthyr Tydfil as the thriving hub of the South Wales Valleys.
We must ensure a successful economic, financial and social recovery. Improvement in areas like transport, infrastructure, housing, education and skills and inward investment across the region.
To meet this huge and exciting challenge we are looking for a world class leader who will channel all their talent, energy, ideas and resourcefulness of our amazing communities to create a better ‘Merthyr Tydfil’ for the future.
