About Bridges into Work 2
Bridges into Work 2 is funded through the European Social Fund (ESF) working with people over 25yrs who are unemployed or economically inactive.
The Bridges into Work 2 Team offer support via highly experienced Tutors/ Mentors based at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre which has a fully operational Retail training shop with working tills, ICT suite and Construction Workshops. We also work out in the Community to meet your needs. We can offer online sessions for some courses where you can interact with your personal tutor.
With tailor made courses to meet the needs of individuals, we can help to improve Health & Well-being or gain accredited qualifications and find suitable routes into employment, further education and training.

Recognised Qualifications
The Bridges into Work 2 team have experienced tutors that can provide a wide range of qualifications to suit all levels of abilities and circumstances.
Our qualifications are quality assured by the Welsh Awarding body Agored Cymru and are offered at level 1 and 2.

The delivery of courses can range from a one-day session to weekly sessions where you can work at your own pace.

Volunteering & Work Placement
At Bridges into Work 2 we are continuously networking with local employers and charities to offer volunteering and work placement opportunities to extend your CV with a view to moving you ever closer to employment.
Our volunteering & work placement opportunities are created with you in mind and our experienced Employment Liaison Officer will guide your through this worthwhile experience.

Eligibility and Referrals
Are you eligible?
To be eligible to receive support from Bridges into Work 2 you must be over 25 years old, not in employment or full time education and live in a non-Communities First postcode area (we will check this on your enquiry and refer you onto the appropriate programme).

You can self-refer by contacting us on 01685 727099, by email to nlcenquiries@merthyr.gov.uk or send us a message on Facebook - Bridges into Work 2 Merthyr Tydfil.
Alternatively, your Careers Wales Adviser or DWP Work Coach can refer you to us by telephone, email or Annex 12/BIW2 Referral form.
All other third party agencies are welcome to make a referral to us by telephone, email or BIW2 referral form.
