Music Service - Instrumental and vocal provision
Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council: Music Service
We deliver instrumental, vocal and curriculum music across the authority’s schools, and in the current situation we’re offering online music to all our pupils and at the school hubs. Our aim is to keep our community making music by delivering it in a variety of ways because, as we all know, it’s at times like this that we all need to keep playing instruments and singing for the benefit of our health and well-being.
The Council’s Music Service is leading by example to ensure Merthyr’s children and young people keep singing and playing. As well as providing online music lessons, the service’s 13-strong peripatetic music tutors team have produced a video of themselves performing a ‘lockdown song’.The video idea was in response to similar videos publicised nationwide - something for our parents, carers and pupils to watch as our way of keeping in touch with them and the country as a whole.
Hello parents, carers, young singers and instrumentalists.
As we all know, It’s at times like this we all need to keep playing instruments and singing for the benefit of our health and well-being; the aim of the MTCBC Music Service is to continue delivering music sessions remotely therefore we are currently planning ways of keeping our community making music 🎶
