Merthyr Valley Veterans Group

The Merthyr Valley Veterans Group is a dedicated community organisation supporting veterans in the Merthyr Valley area. Every Tuesday morning at 10AM, veterans gather at the Merthyr Labour Club in Merthyr Tydfil to share stories, offer mutual support, and enjoy camaraderie over a cup of tea. This group provides a sense of community that many veterans miss after leaving the armed forces.

Beyond social gatherings, the group actively engages in community improvement projects. For instance, they maintain the Parish Church Memorial Garden by laying new pathways, cutting grass, renewing benches, and cleaning memorial stones. They also plan to grow vegetables to support those in need.

Supported by Mab Gwalia, which funds materials for their projects, the Merthyr Valley Veterans Group’s efforts not only benefit the veterans but also enhance the broader community.
