FOI re prices paid by Local Authorities for Children’s Homes services in 2018/19. This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please find below a Freedom of Information request related to the prices paid by Local Authorities for Children’s Homes services in 2018/19. Preamble - not for publication Every 3 years the National Centre for Excellence in Residential Child Care (England) and Revolution Consulting research this topic. They are conducted by 2 independent researchers. The work is regarded as both practical and are highly respected. The research is well regarded as can be seen included in the publication in the Unit Costs of Health and Social Care by PSSRU in 2013. This publication can be found here http://www.pssru.ac.uk/ project-pages/unit-costs/2013/ We have concluded and published the 2020 research for England (Price trends and costs of children’s homes https://www.revolution-consulting.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/FoI-price-report-final-16-Feb-2020-1.pdf ) and have been encouraged to undertake the same project for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our research offers an analysis over time to which we apply sector specific knowledge. This comparative project will be a further step forwards. We aim to provide the most accurate reference to actual pricing and has proven to be of major benefit to government and commissioners, to providers, policy makers, analysts and researchers with whom they are openly shared. Please note - we do not make available information regarding any single local authority. We publish aggregated data only. These now widely referenced studies have benefitted from a large majority of LAs providing the information in a timely and comprehensive manner. We look forward to a high response rate to this follow-up survey, which we believe will continue to provide a unique insight to the current status of pricing in the sector and also facilitate an informative analysis. Please note: 1a. If the price per week changed during the year, please provide all weekly prices that applied during the year. 1b. This is a request for the weekly price only, and NOT for the total placement cost. 1c. Please do NOT identify the child or young person or the name of the provider. 1d. Please provide the weekly price EXCLUDING any VAT. 1e. Please do not include short break placements. 1f. We would greatly appreciate if the information could be provided in the format of the table below, ideally in an Excel spreadsheet.
