Question

For the financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21 to date: 1. How much money has the council spent in total on hotel / B&B accommodation for homeless people? 2. If time permits, I would be grateful for a breakdown of spending: - The name and address of hotel(s) used - The number of rooms purchased - The number of nights purchased - Any other fees / or costs incurred (e.g. food, drink, insurance etc)

Answer

RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 – INFORMATION REQUEST We have considered your request and provide the following information: 1. How much money has the council spent in total on hotel / B&B accommodation for homeless people? 2019-20 Total spent on hotel and B & B Accommodation = £183,833.59 (£181,422.31 council funded and £2,411.28 Covid grant funded) 2020-21 Total spent on hotel and B & B Accommodation = £264,261.67 (£38,042.97 council funded and £226,218.70 Covid grant funded) 2. If time permits, I would be grateful for a breakdown of spending: - The name and address of hotel(s) used - The number of rooms purchased - The number of nights purchased - Any other fees / or costs incurred (e.g. food, drink, insurance etc) We can provide a breakdown of number of B&B rooms booked out for 2020-21, but not for 2019-20. However in 2019-20, the maximum number of rooms in Penylan (6) and Maesycoed (10) were available. For 2020-21, the number of nights we’ve used all B&B / hotels for is 163. Please see the attached spreadsheet for names and addresses of accommodation used in 2020-21 and number of beds.
