Could you please advise the number of contracts that exist to manage leisure services from 1st April 2024 within Merthyr Tydfil CBC that are not to be delivered by directly employed council officers. Can you please advise as to what services are to be provided under these contracts (the scope of the contracts). Could you advise who has been successful in winning these contracts. Can you advise the value of the contracts and period of the contracts.
Answer
Could you please advise the number of contracts that exist to manage leisure services from 1st April 2024 within Merthyr Tydfil CBC that are not to be delivered by directly employed council officers. As from the 1st of April Wellbeing Merthyr (Merthyr Leisure Trust) currently manage the Council’s leisure services. Can you please advise as to what services are to be provided under these contracts (the scope of the contracts). Wellbeing Merthyr manage Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Centre, Cyfarthfa Park (including castle) and several libraries. Could you advise who has been successful in winning these contracts. The contract with wellbeing Merthyr has been extended. Can you advise the value of the contracts and period of the contracts. Wellbeing Merthyr receive £2.4m per year to manage all the services under the contract.
