If so, please provide details of the types of processed meat served and any guidance or policies in place regarding their procurement.

Answer

1. The following products currently being used in schools contain nitrites as a preservative: • 1932 Premium Sliced Cooked Ham 500g • 4852 Sliced Back Bacon Medium 2kg • 31542 Sliced Back Bacon 1kg (primary only) • 1943 Sliced Back Bacon 500g (primary only) • 10919 Hertford Corned Beef 2.72kg (comps only) • 99519 Hertford Corned Beef 340g (comps only) 2. The types of meat are detailed above. These are procured via our nominated supplier, who are currently working on removing / reducing nitrates as a preservative.
