Answer
1. A copy of the Council’s and any joint Cwm Taf area specific policies or strategies pertaining to Unpaid Carers. Have attached the TOR for unpaid Carer Partnership and the Priorities actions Carers have told us about. Information on CTM Regional priorities all available on their website. 2. The numbers of unpaid adult carers over the last 3 years and how many unpaid carers assessments have been completed over this period? This information has been incredibly difficult to gather as was also highlighted in the Unpaid Carer audit undertaken in 2024. We believe the new system will have capacity to better include information and further work has been done to ensure information relating to unpaid carers is appropriately recorded. Unpaid Carers Assessments:- a. 2022/2023 = 28 b. 2023/2023 = 31 c. 2024/2025 = 45 3. The total budget attributed to unpaid adult carers and a breakdown of costs attributed to supporting unpaid adult carers through Carers Assessments and how many hours of sitting services have been provided (all over the last 3 years)? – Nil budget attributed to unpaid adult carers – any costs are incorporated within Social Care budgets and cannot be identified separately 4. The numbers of young carers over the last 3 years and how many young carers assessments have been completed? 5. Details of the support and services offered by the Council either directly or via commissioned providers over the last 3 years and plans for service provision for the next year from 1st April 2025 onwards. Since 2021 we have had one commissioned unpaid carer service with Adult Services, whilst we collaborated with other organisations and unpaid carers to establish what was needed. We have one full time Carer Support Co-ordinator and since September 2024 another full time Carer Support Co0ordinator who is funded through SPF until March 2026. From April 2025 we are entering into a Partnership model whereby a number of organisations including the council will work collaboratively to deliver the priorities carers have told us about. Details of the Council’s own funds / Welsh Government grants / CTMUHB grants or RPB (ICF & RIF) grants and funding awarded to any third sector organisations or other providers to support unpaid carers over the last 3 years and confirmation if there are any cuts to organisations or changes to any SLA’s / Contracts or reductions in funding to said organisations supporting or providing a service to Unpaid Carers for 2025/2026 financial year commencing 1st April 2025. We have received short breaks funding through RIF for unpaid carers but would not be able to provide information on funding awarded to other organisations. From April 1st, 2025, the council is working in Partnership with other organisations, unpaid carers, and other stakeholders to ensure we are supporting carers to get the right support at the right time. This model means that existing budget provision will utilised to support organisations to deliver on outcomes and priorities
