I) Does your local authority have an in-date Empty Homes Strategy? II) Does your local authority employ a dedicated Empty Homes Officer? III) What annual budget is allocated to addressing the issue of Empty Homes for 2025/26?
Answer
There is no dedicated budget for addressing Empty Homes within the Environmental Health. It’s all deal with within existing budgets except for National Empty Homes Scheme in which there is a capital budget for match element of the fund. The grant fund is circa £120K for the duration of the grant fund scheme. RCT administer the scheme and have all details on grants issued and match funding provided each financial year.
