Question

Re: Relating to the use, planning, procurement, and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) within Social Work and Social Care services, with a specific focus on practitioner facing tasks.

Information held from 1 January 2022 onwards.

Scope of request

Please provide information held and reasonably retrievable that explains how your organisation has reached its current position on the use (or non use) of AI in Social Work and Social Care settings, particularly where AI supports, influences, or has been considered for practitioner tasks (for example: case recording, decision support, triage, risk assessment, workflow automation, quality assurance, or management oversight).

This includes information relating to:

• Planning and decision making

• Procurement, commissioning, and soft market testing

• Governance, assurance, and information governance

• Implementation and system design

• Operational use or pilot activity

The request is intentionally focused on key decisions, approved approaches, and high level documentation, rather than all drafts, working papers, or routine operational records.

Correspondence

Where held, please include key correspondence (or summaries / representative samples) that informed or recorded decisions about AI use in Social Work or Social Care, including correspondence with:

• Senior officers

• Programme or digital teams

• Information governance staff

• Suppliers or technology partners

Full email chains are not required where summaries or decision records are available.

Answer

I am writing to submit a Freedom of Information request to your authority relating to the use, planning, procurement, and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) within Social Work and Social Care services, with a specific focus on practitioner facing tasks.

This is nil response to all, whilst we are exploring AI opportunities we haven’t planned, used, or procured an exact solution as yet.
