All our stray dogs are transferred to Hope’s ownership after 7 days for rehoming, they have their own criteria for determining whether a dog is suitable for rehoming.

4. Dogs Suspected of Prohibited Type

All prohibited dogs that are received by MTCBC as stray dogs are dealt with as per stay dog legislation.

Stray dogs are retained by the LA for the period of 7 days, after the 7 days they are usually euthanised (banned breeds only)as they are unable to be rehomed.

We have had 3 XL bullies in the timeframe above, two in 2024 and 1 in 2025 and they were euthanised.
