For the purposes of this request:

“Electively Home Educated (EHE)” refers to any child of compulsory school age not registered at a school and whose education is primarily the responsibility of their parent/carer, regardless of how recorded by the local authority.

Please include children currently recorded as EHE, and those recorded as CME where they were previously known to be EHE prior to being moved to CME.

“Compulsory school age (CSA)” refers to children aged 5 to 16.

Where exact data is not held, please provide the closest available data and explain any limitations.

1 - Population Data

ii) how many of those are CSA

b) i) Total number of children known to Children’s Services as of 1 April 2026

ii) how many of those are pre CSA

Please note that = Currently on our social care system EHE is recorded inconsistently and sporadically which is why we are unable to provide consistent accurate data sets at this current moment, we have provided data where available.

We have included dataset from our disclosure log, this is sat below your requested data

1 . Population data a) Please provide:

I looked on our disclosure log and found this information on EHE

1) EHE -

a) Please provide the number of homes educated children known to your local authority as of the 1st April 2026 122

b) how many of these became known since 1st October 2025? 45

c) how many of these are in 14-16 access college and still registered as EHE? 0

d) how many of these are flexi-schooled/part time EHE and part time school? 1

e) how many of these were previously attending private school before being EHE? 0

2) CME -

a)How many children moved from EHE status to CME status between 1 October 2025 and 1 April 2026? This includes those where you dual categorise as EHE and CME. No single total is available due to the fluid movement between EHE and CME.

b) How many of these remain CME? 2 as at 31st March 2026.
