Ateb

1.Care experienced applicants do receive enhanced consideration under the Council's housing allocations scheme. Care leavers assessed jointly by Housing Solutions and Social Services as ready to move into independent accommodation are awarded either Band 1 (Urgent Homelessness Priority) or Band 1 Reduced (High Priority) depending on their circumstances and ability to remain in their current placement. The Council also operates joint planning arrangements between Housing and Social Services to support care leavers' accommodation needs.

3. Yes. The Council has implemented a number of practical measures to support care experienced people within housing services, including enhanced housing priority for care leavers, joint Housing and Social Services planning, pathway planning, a multi-agency Move-On Panel, tenancy readiness assessments, Tenancy Ready Courses, floating support and tenancy sustainment services, and structured transition planning when moving into independent accommodation. I have not identified any standalone care-experienced staff training programme or dedicated recording system from the information reviewed.

4. Yes. The Council records and monitors housing outcomes for care experienced applicants through its Local Housing Panel and Move-On Panel arrangements. These processes record decisions relating to readiness for independent living, housing priority, support needs, move-on from supported accommodation and tenancy sustainment planning. The Council also monitors wider allocations and rehousing performance through its housing management and rapid rehousing arrangements
