. I require details surrounding several abandoned and disused properties in and around Merthyr Tydfil. Below is a list of several i have found, although if you come across any other please include them. Theatre Royal – Merthyr Tydfil, Penydarren Road Old General Hospital/ Care Home – Merthyr Tydfil, Penydarren Road Brynteg Terrace (signed Paul Fosh auctions) – Merthyr Tydfil Unitarian Chapel – Old Chapel Road, Cefn Coed Tabor Welsh Independent Chapel – Cefn Coed I would like to know if these building are currently owned, if so by whom? And more importantly if there are plans in place for development.

Theatre Royal, Park Place, Merthyr Tydfil CF47 0LJ – This is a listed building and is owned by a private individual. This property has been empty since February 2006. Merthyr Nursing Home (Former Old General Hospital) Penydarren Road, Merthyr Tydfil CF47 8YU –Records show that the owners are Puretruce Health Care Limited and that a recent application has been made for 23 dwellings to be built on site. Hen Dy Cwrdd Unitarian Chapel, 1 The Triangle, Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil CF48 2PT - The Trustees of Hen Dy Cwrdd Unitarian chapel are the owners of this building. The church is currently empty and was brought into the rating list by the Valuation Office with a zero rateable value. Tabor Welsh Independent Chapel, Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil – No records are held for this chapel in the Business Rating and Council Tax Lists. However you should be able to establish the owners of this building by carrying out a search with the Land Registry. YMCA Building (Former Education Offices), Pontmorlais West, Merthyr Tydfil CF47 8UY - The owners are Carmarthenshire Heritage Regeneration Trust, the building is due to be renovated but no dates are available. This is a listed building and is currently vacant.
