Question
During the upgrade of Quakers Yard station as part of the core valley lines electrification scheme by Transport of Wales, the contractors (Griffiths) sited a portacabin on road opposite 33 Taff vale estate. After the completion of the current works and due to safety issues on the station Transport for Wales have employed guards on the station with the portacabin now being used as welfare facilities for the guards.
The Portacabin and safety cones erected on the roadside has restricted the road to single lane and I therefore request the following information
1. What correspondence has taken place between Merthyr Tydfil County Council highways department and Transport of Wales for the siting of this cabin on the road
2, Has any permits been issued for the siting of the cabin on the area mentioned above.
