Only Mandatory Licensing Scheme for HMOs in operation in Merthyr Tydfil

For each scheme, please supply the following information:

Borough Wide scheme – all wards covered

The start/end (or renewal) date for each scheme The scheme has been in place since it was introduced by legislation and has no end date.

Eligibility criteria for properties

The mandatory licensing requirements as contained within the Housing Act 2004 –

All properties of 3 or more storeys, which are occupied by five or more people from two or more separate households who share amenities like kitchens or bathrooms.
