Please provide the following information for the period 1 January 2024 to the date of this request.
Is the Council aware of any accommodation in the Council area being used to house asylum seekers, people awaiting asylum decisions or processing, refugees, sanctuary seekers, ARAP/ACRS arrivals, Ukraine scheme arrivals, or people housed under any other Home Office, humanitarian, resettlement, or asylum-related arrangement?
Please provide:
1. Whether the Council is aware of any such accommodation.
2. The number of sites, broken down by accommodation type.
3. Whether any hotels in your Council area are being used.
4. Any correspondence, briefings, meeting notes, or records held by the Council referring to such accommodation in Newport.
5. If the Council’s position is that no such accommodation exists, the recorded basis for that position.
6. A breakdown of the nationalities of the asylum seekers.
