Performance Management and Local Authority Data
For each local authority, performance management and the use of data is key. Using data in an appropriate and correct way can help local authorities to better inform their actions, plan for the future and to improve outcomes for residents. Effective use of data is one of a number of ways in which local authorities can take responsibility for their own performance, and can also assist the public and the Government to hold service providers to account ensuring local needs are being responded to with the Council continuing to work to achieve value for money.
On this page, you will have access to many sources of publicly available data detailing various elements of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council's performance. You will be able to source data on many matters such as health, employment and the environment.
We have strengthened our understanding of performance and governance across the Council and have identified a number of ways in which we can involve people in refocusing current processes with a view to improve. We have developed a delivery architecture that provides more clarity around monitoring and reporting and will continue to develop the tools we use to measure and manage performance.
