‘Excellence in Housing Innovation’ win at Welsh Housing Awards 2023

We’re delighted to announce that Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, in partnership with Merthyr Valleys Homes, has won the ‘Excellence in Housing Innovation’ at the Welsh Housing Awards 2023 for our Pen Y Dre Apartments / Compass Community Hub scheme.
This award is aimed at projects which could clearly demonstrate how they have developed an innovative approach which has made a real difference to the lives of tenants and customers.
Members of the Council’s Housing Team attended the ceremony, along with colleagues from Adferiad, which took place at the Mercure Hotel in Cardiff on Thursday 30 November. Adferiad is the support provider at the award-winning scheme.
Councillor Michelle Symonds, Cabinet Member for Housing said; “On behalf of all at Merthyr Tydfil CBC, I would like to congratulate our dedicated Housing Team on this prestigious award, and thank our brilliant partners - Merthyr Valley Homes, Adferiad, Childrens Services and Employability & Community Services Team.”
