We’re delighted to share the news that this year, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, in partnership with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and Welsh Local Government, welcomes the return of the Food and Fun; and it’s bigger and better than ever.
This year a whopping 15 schools have signed up to the scheme – a 650% increase in engagement.
Starting from 25 July, and running until 9 August, these schools will commit to supporting local families with 12 days of engaging activities, focused around health, happiness and wellbeing. Working in partnership, they will ensure children in Merthyr have access to 12 days of healthy meals, nutrition education and physical activity opportunities.
“My son has learned so much from Food and Fun. He comes home every day and tells me the healthy eating message from the sessions and he has asked us to start taking part in more physical activity as a family.” (parent of child from Blessed Carlo Acutis:St Aloysius after last year’s event)
