Did you know you can now recycle 12 different materials at the kerbside every week?
Plastic bottles, tubs and trays – blue bag
Metal food and drink cans – blue bag Aluminium foil – blue bag Tetrapak (Card/foil lined juice cartons) – recycling box 2 Paper – recycling box 1 Cardboard (including brown paper packaging) – recycling box 2 Glass bottles and jars – recycling box 3 Food waste – food waste bin Green garden waste – green hessian sacks Small Electrical items – clear bag Textiles and shoes – clear bag Household batteries – purple battery recycling bagsAlthough most of us in #MerthyrTydfil are already Mighty Recyclers, a recent study found that 50% of the contents of a typical refuse bin in Merthyr Tydfil could have been recycled in our kerbside recycling schemes. 20% were materials easily recyclable at the kerbside. The remaining 30% was food waste.
You can recycle even more of your waste at one of the two Household Recycling Centres in Aberfan and Dowlais! You can also reuse items you no longer need by donating to the New Lease of Life reuse shop in Pentrebach CF48 4DR
