Schools from across Merthyr Tydfil are today celebrating GCSE results day. Pupils have been discovering their results and beginning to plan for their next steps.

To mark the occasion, young people from across the county borough have been making the journey to return to their schools to celebrate and reflect on their achievements with teachers and staff, and to discover how they performed in these important milestone exams.

Sue Walker, the Council’s Director of Education, commented: “Well done and congratulations to all the pupils that collected their GCSE results this morning.”

“I want to wish you all the very best going forward, whether you would like to remain in education and obtain your A-levels, or explore apprenticeships and career options.”

“For now, enjoy your celebrations and your summer holidays with your loved ones.”

There are a variety of options for those receiving results including going on to further education in college. Pupils also have the option to search for apprenticeships or employment opportunities. Browse our website for further information and advice: merthyr.gov.uk/resident/jobs-and-training/

As students celebrate their successes, please join in on our social media channels as we continue to share stories of those celebrating.
