Update: Refuse / Recycling Collections

We are aware that parts of Treharris, Merthyr Vale, Town and Plymouth Wards are still awaiting refuse/recycling collections, and that other areas have experienced delays in collections over the festive period.

We’d like to thank everyone in these areas for their patience and understanding while our crews are working hard to clear the backlog.

The teams are hopeful that they will catch up with all collections by the end of the week - Friday 9 January. However, this is weather permitting and due to the ice and snow we’re currently experiencing, some areas haven’t been completed today.

We want to say a huge thank you to the extra crews working during this extremely busy time. We have one extra refuse crew out collecting areas not collected over the Christmas period, as well as two extra recycling crews. In addition, we have a further support crew out focusing on cardboard collection.

We would like to emphasise that there could be areas missed due to unfamiliar crews on rounds, but we will do our best to catch up as soon as possible.
