Music Service 2021-2022

Please see the message below from the MTCBC Music Service for pupils who receive Peripatetic Music lessons in school and take part in the after school activities with the Music Service.

Instrumental and Vocal lessons with the Music Service

Throughout the pandemic our aim as a Music Service has been to keep our community making music by delivering music in a variety of ways because, as we know, it’s at times like this that we all need to keep playing instruments and singing for the benefit of our health and well-being. Instrumental and Vocal lessons with the Music Service’s Peripatetic Music Teachers are face to face across the county borough and online using Teams as part of a blended learning approach when required.

Making Music with the Marvellous Merthyr Music ‘MENU’ - Music Education Needs Us:

Our MENU (Music Education Needs Us) consists of materials, resources, guidance and online learning tools for use at any time. Here’s up to date information on our in/after school/college activities:

  • Merthyr Tydfil Youth Music

Throughout the lockdown periods, Peripatetic Music staff) met on Teams with the young MTYMusic members at the usual rehearsal time for a fun play-through and musically themed quiz; this term we are keeping in touch with the members and their parents/carers via regular email newsletters and are aiming to resume face to face rehearsals in January 2022.
