Inspire 2 Achieve 11-16
Inspire2 Achieve (I2A) is a Shared Prosperity Funded (SPF) project working in mainstream schools, the Pupils Referral Unit and Special Tuition.
There is a clear focus on retaining young people in education from the ages of 11 to 16 who have been identified as at risk of becoming NEET. Inspire2 Achieve provides early interventions aimed at identifying individual barriers and providing supportive actions to reduce the risk of young people dropping out of education. All interventions aim to improve academic performance, personal and social development, life skills, increase school attendance and enable young people to gain qualifications increasing their opportunities and aiding their progression into further education, training and employment.
These interventions can include:
- Access to one-to-one support through a qualified and experienced Inspire2 Achieve Worker who practices active listening, are non-bias, non-judgemental and empathetic.
- Providing crisis management, mentoring and brokerage to overcome personal issues that affect young people’s lives aiding progression into Education, Employment and Training
- Signposting young people to appropriate additional support services when required
- Bespoke packages of learning to suit the needs of groups of young people to achieve qualifications, some of which include Emotional Intelligence, Improving Confidence, Teamwork & Motivation and Improving own Learning and Performance.
- Opportunities to take part in activities which can include Outdoor Education, Creative Workshops and Employer Visits
- For Year 11 pupils, support is provided with progression into Education, Employment and Training including preparation for exams, help with Further Education applications, Further Education visits and attending College, Work Based Learning or Employment interviews.
- Career guidance in partnership with Careers Wales and JGW+.
