Parking Permits (Residential, Academic and Season Permits)
The Council have introduced a number of on-street residential permit schemes which are reserved for nearby residential properties.
The schemes allow, 24 hours permit parking and enforcement which is the responsibility of MTCBC. As a result, any vehicles found parked in these locations, without a valid permit can expect to be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
These permits cost £34 each. Restrictions on the number and types of permits which are available do vary from area to area. Entitlement details can be found on the application form.
To apply for a residential/visitors permit please ensure that you have the following documents in an electronic format:
Residents Permit
- Proof of vehicle ownership (V5c log book)
- Proof of residency (Council tax bill, insurance document, or a utility bill dated within the last 3 months)
Visitor Permits
- Proof of residency (Council Tax bill, an insurance document, utility bill (dated within the last 3 months))
Once you have the relevant documents, click the above link and create an account with your personal email address. You will need to verify the email address before proceeding further, if you haven’t received the email in your inbox check your spam/junk folder.
After you have verified your email address, log in to the system and complete the relevant fields, once saved click the Permit Application icon and choose from the drop-down menu which permit you require.
Once you have completed the application, uploaded the relevant documents and submitted them, they will be verified by the Parking Permit Team.
Once verified, an offer will be emailed back to the registered email address where you will then be able to pay. Once payment has been received, the permit will be valid.
To apply for an Academic or Season Permit
If applying for an Academic Permit please ensure that you have the following document in electronic format:
- College ID

After you have verified your email address, log in to the system and complete the relevant fields, once saved click the Permit Application icon and choose from the drop-down menu which permit you require.
Once you have completed the application, uploaded the relevant document and submitted them, they will be verified by the Parking Permit Team.

Academic permits payments can be made upfront for £230 on or before 1st September, or monthly (continuous) at £24.20.
Please note that monthly permits can only start on the 1st of each month i.e. 1st September, 1st October, 1st November etc, all will expire 30th June.
If you wish to have a permit valid from the 1st September, applications can be made 2 weeks before the start of the academic year.
Season Permit
If applying for a Season Permit please ensure that you have a credit/debit card to hand when applying.
Season permit payments can be made upfront for £350 or monthly (continuous) at £29.16.

On completion of the application, payment will be required. Once payment is received the permit will be valid.
