Food labelling and allergy information

Inspections are undertaken of food premises where product labels and packaging are examined to ensure they are complying with their legal requirements.  If any failures are identified, the issue is dealt with directly with the food business operator in question.

In December 2014 the law on allergen labelling changed.  From this date all food providers are required to provide adequate allergen information.  This can either be done on packaging or by signposting depending on the food you are providing.
