Answer
The current grant scheme has been in operation since April 2023. The figures below show those applications received between April 2023 and 31st December 2024 1. Number of applications received for the Empty Homes Grant. - 82 2. Number of applications approved and total amount of grant funding awarded. – 25 (11 applications have been fully paid – total grant funding - £257,875.26; the other 14 applications have not been fully paid so the total grant funding for these is not accurate at this stage) 3. Number of applications refused, with a short description of the most common reason(s) for refusal (no more than the top three reasons, if recorded). – The only information we have is that 48 applications have been cancelled – this would include cancellations by the applicant and refusals. RCTBC administer the applications and are responsible for determining valid applications. 4. Number of applications still pending (no decision issued at the time of your response), including those awaiting further action from either the applicant or the council. 9 5. Average processing time (in weeks) from application submission to a decision being issued (for applications that have been decided). RCT would hold this information 6. Whether the scheme is currently open to new applications (Yes/No). Yes If possible, please provide the information in an electronic spreadsheet format (e.g., .xlsx or .csv).
