Question
• How many 20mph road signs have been damaged, defaced, or removed in the MTCBC area since September 2023 • Why MTCBC has removed the 20mph road signage directly sitting above village names, and when? • When the round 20mph signs on Swansea Road (just north of the Gellideg estate) were defaced (spray painted in black) OR reported/logged as defaced and when they were cleaned so the 20mph was made visible again (I believe the latter for which was 24 June 2024 but please confirm).
Answer
• How many 20mph road signs have been damaged, defaced, or removed in the MTCBC area since September 2023 There were 13 that had been reported to us that had been defaced. • Why MTCBC has removed the 20mph road signage directly sitting above village names, and when? Some of the village signs that incorporated 20mph were set within locations that had remained 30mph, therefore the 20 had to be removed. We don’t have the exact dates on when they were removed. • When the round 20mph signs on Swansea Road (just north of the Gellideg estate) were defaced (spray painted in black) OR reported/logged as defaced and when they were cleaned so the 20mph was made visible again (I believe the latter for which was 24 June 2024 but please confirm). Unable to confirm when they were sprayed black. No record of these signs being reported as defaced. They were only noted as defaced when all the Borough signage was being checked, this area being checked on Monday 24th June 2024. Notified the afternoon of Monday 24th June 2024 that the signs had been cleaned to be made visible.
