Ateb
A local authority has a duty under the Countryside Act 1968 s 27 to signpost all footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways and byways where they leave a metalled road. Signposts must indicate the nature of the public right, whether it is a footpath, bridleway, etc. Authorities have discretion whether they want to indicate the destination of the way and distance, we do not indicate this on our signs. All our signage conforms to the statutory instrument, Traffic and sign regulation and general direction 2002.
