Fleet

In the last 12 months we replaced 6 vehicles with EVs in Parking, Recycling and IT and we ordered 6 more for St Cleansing and one “pool vehicle” to be delivered in the next 6-12 months, we are also investing in a new electricity supply from Western Power Distribution  for Unit 5 and Unit 20 to meet the demand for EV chargers in the future;  as soon as they are active we will install several EV chargers to provide the infrastructure to charge our Fleet of  vehicles including HGVs and special vehicles.

This is supported by the Welsh Government Energy Service (WGES), Welsh Local Government Association (WGLA), Office For Zero (Low) Emissions Vehicles (OLEV, OLEZ) and Cardiff Capital Region (CCF) that offered financial grants and logistic support to accelerate the transition to a carbon neutral Fleet.

Here at the council our fleet operations team have purchased 4 x Electric Vehicles (EVs), with 4 more being delivered by September this year. This is one of the many ways we can look to become Carbon neutral by 2030.
