Budget consultation 2026/27 Results

Thank you to everyone who took the time to have their say on this year’s Budget Consultation – we had over 1,345 take part this year. 

The animation below shows the outcome of the Consultation. In relation to the Council Tax question, 51.6% of people voted to cut services to keep Council Tax to a minimum, with the remaining 48.4% choosing to maintain services, even if it means an increase in Council Tax above the proposed 5%.

When it came to services, Social Care, Health & Youth Participation was identified as the top priority, with Transformation, Governance & Social Partnership receiving the least number of votes.

We will take this into consideration when planning next year’s budget.
