Did you know you can now recycle 12 different materials at the kerbside every week?
- Plastic bottles, tubs and trays – blue bag
- Metal food and drink cans – blue bag
- Aluminium foil – blue bag
- Tetrapak (Card/foil lined juice cartons) – recycling box 2
- Paper – recycling box 1
- Cardboard (including brown paper packaging) – recycling box 2
- Glass bottles and jars – recycling box 3
- Food waste – food waste bin
- Green garden waste – green hessian sacks
- Small Electrical items – clear bag
- Textiles and shoes – clear bag
- Household batteries – purple battery recycling bags
Although most of us in #MerthyrTydfil are already Mighty Recyclers, a recent study found that 50% of the contents of a typical refuse bin in Merthyr Tydfil could have been recycled in our kerbside recycling schemes. 20% were materials easily recyclable at the kerbside. The remaining 30% was food waste.
You can recycle even more of your waste at one of the two Household Recycling Centres in Aberfan and Dowlais!
