Bulky Green Waste Collection

Our bulky green waste collection service is available for trees, branches and larger quantities of garden waste. The bulky green waste collection service incurs a charge of £49.07 per vehicle load and is available all year round. Where there is more than a vehicle load of bulky green waste presented another collection will need to be booked. The above charge will be applied for each additional load booked.

What happens after a collection is booked?

Missed Collections

If your item(s) are not collected for any reason (such as inclement weather or vehicle breakdown) we will attempt to contact you using the contact details provided to us when making the request.

Every effort will be made to collect on the next working day.

Refunds for cancellations

Refunds can only be processed if a request is received by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council more than 2 working days prior to the scheduled collection.

If a collection is unable to be completed due to the material containing Japanese knotweed, giant hogweed, ragwort, earth or garden rubble or is placed in inaccessible position a refund will not be given. You will need to make alternative arrangements for the removal of this waste.

All garden waste can be recycled FREE of charge at your Household Recycling Centres (HRCs). Garden waste such as grass cuttings, hedge clippings, weeds, leaves and flowers are collected as part of our free seasonal fortnightly kerbside collection service. We do not collect invasive species such as Knotweed and Ragwort.
