A Summer of Creativity and Community at the Compass Community Hub

This summer at the Compass Community Hub in Merthyr Tydfil has been nothing short of spectacular! With a full schedule of fun and engaging activities, we've seen our community come together to learn, create, and connect in new and exciting ways. From the hum of construction tools to the calm of crafting pottery, this season has been a celebration of hands-on learning and creativity.

One of the standout events was our Construction Open Day. This unique experience gave people a behind-the-scenes look at the world of construction. Visitors of all ages rolled up their sleeves to try their hand at various tasks, from bricklaying to carpentry. It was a fantastic opportunity to get a taste of the skills involved in construction jobs and to spark an interest in those considering a career in the field. The excitement was palpable, and many left with a newfound appreciation for the hard work that goes into building the world around us.

But the creativity didn't stop there! Throughout the summer, the Hub was alive with our Summer Program. Our Pottery Making sessions were a hit, with participants moulding and shaping clay into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. Whether it was a mug, a vase, or something entirely abstract, everyone got to explore their inner artist.

And let's not forget the Arts and Crafts days, which truly brought out the community spirit. These sessions were all about exploring different mediums and techniques, from painting and drawing to making bug hotels. Families, friends, and individuals of all ages came together to make art, share ideas, and simply enjoy the process of creating something with their hands.

As the summer winds down, we're already looking forward to more activities and workshops in the coming months. The Compass Community Hub has once again proven to be a place where creativity, learning, and community come together, and we can't wait to see what the next season brings!
