Why Join the Supporting Change Team? -This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team that works directly with children, young people, and families across Merthyr Tydfil to create meaningful and lasting change. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual with experience of working with children and families, who can build positive relationships, communicate effectively, and remain focused on achieving the best outcomes for children. You will understand the importance of relationship-based practice and be confident supporting families through periods of challenge, change, and transition.The Supporting Change Team delivers both Outreach and Out-Of-Hours Team, providing practical and intensive support to families when they need it most. Working alongside colleagues and partner agencies, you will support children to remain safely within their families where possible, strengthen family resilience, and help parents develop the skills and confidence needed to meet their children's needs. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You may be providing support within the family home, undertaking direct work with children and young people, helping families implement support plans, managing family time arrangements, or responding to emerging needs through the out-of-hours service.The role operates on a five-day rota across Monday to Saturday, reflecting our commitment to providing flexible support that meets the needs of children and families outside traditional office hours. We pride ourselves on being a supportive team where staff wellbeing, professional development, and reflective practice are actively encouraged. You will receive regular supervision, access to training opportunities, and the support of experienced managers who are committed to helping staff develop and thrive within their role. The post is fixed term until 31.03.2027. Whilst funding beyond this date cannot be guaranteed, there may be the opportunity for the contract to be extended, subject to future funding arrangements.
