Development control
The Development Control section of the Town Planning Division deals with the determination of planning applications, the enforcement of breaches of planning control, and provides advice to members of the public as to whether or not developments require planning permission.
The Development Control section also holds records of all past planning applications on its statutory register.
If you have any general queries on any aspect of Development Control please contact the Development Control Team.
New permitted development rights for householders come into force on the 30th September 2013
New regulations will be introduced by the Welsh Government, which will change the criteria used to determine whether planning permission is required for householder type development. These regulations are set out in Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Amendments) (Wales) Order 2013.
Further information is available on the Welsh Government's website.
The Development Control section is unable to offer informal, written advice on the need for planning permission for householder applications for the foreseeable future and will require a formal application (Certificate of Lawfulness) for all such determinations.
