Invitation to be included on the Consultee List of interested parties in respect of the preparation of the Second Replacement Local Development Plan (2026-2041) for Merthyr Tydfil.
Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (MTCBC) is preparing a Second Replacement Local Development Plan for its administrative area (excluding land within the jurisdiction of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park). Formulating the Second Replacement Local Development Plan (LDP) is a multi-year process, culminating in the LDP’s adoption, scheduled for 2030. Once adopted, the Plan will set the development and land-use priorities for Merthyr Tydfil up to 2041.
The Council understands the importance of communities contributing to the development and well-being of the County Borough, where they live and work, whether as individuals, groups or organisations. Therefore, the Council will involve all stakeholders and interested parties from the outset, allowing their viewpoints to shape the direction of the Plan and build consensus to achieve shared aims and objectives.
The Council invites all interested parties to request for their name and/or organisation be added to the Consultee List. Those who request to be added, will receive all future correspondence and updates pertaining to plan-preparation, alongside opportunities for involvement and engagement in future consultation events. Any person or organisation who no longer wishes for their details to be included on the Consultee List should email the Council (development.planning@merthyr.gov.uk) and request to be removed. A reply will be sent to the individual or organisation confirming their removal, once actioned.
