Community Safety
The Cwm Taf Community Safety Board is a multi-agency partnership working together to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour throughout the County Boroughs of Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. The Board is committed to making the borough a safer place to live, work and visit.
The Regional Collaborative Board and previous Local Service Boards in both Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil merged to form a single Public Services Board (PSB) to deliver the goals of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act and is made up of both statutory partners and voluntary sector organisations.
Statutory Partners include:
- South Wales Police
- South Wales Police Authority
- Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council
- South Wales Fire Authority
- Cwm Taf Local Health Board
- Wales Probation Service
The current remit of the Cwm Taf Community Safety Board is inclusive of all matters relating to Community Safety and crime reduction in Cwm Taf with a particular focus on the key thematic areas of:
a) Crime and Disorder Reduction
b) Offender Management
c) Substance Misuse
