Lifeline “Peace of Mind” Service Fees and Charges 2026/27

Important information.

Lifeline Digital Switchover

The UK’s telephone network is changing. Between now and the end of 2027, all telephone providers will be moving their customers telephone landlines from a technology called analogue to one that is digital.

The digital switchover means that your existing equipment such as a Lifeline emergency alarm unit is required to be updated or reconfigured to ensure it continues to work effectively.

Merthyr Tydfil Lifeline has been reassured by BT that all current customers using Lifeline will not be pressured into making this change until 2027.

The Council is in the process of planning upgrades for residents across the County Borough. We currently have options available to our residents, please call us on 01685 725000 and ask for Lifeline.
