Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all public authorities to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme. The purpose of a Publication Scheme is to ensure that authorities make as much information available as possible to the general public.

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s Publication Scheme provides details of the information that is published automatically or routinely by the Council. It is categorised under the following headings:

If you are unable to locate the information you require within the Publication Scheme please do not hesitate to submit a request for information to the Councils Freedom of Information Officer at FOI@merthyr.gov.uk or complete an online request form, for general requests use the FOI request form. These requests are processed in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

If you are requesting environmental information please use the Council’s Environmental Information Request form. These requests are processed in accordance with the Environmental Information Regulations 2004

Please be aware that much of the information held by the Council is personal and private to individuals. If you would like to request your personal information please use the Councils subject access request form. These requests are considered under the Data Protection Act 1998.
